Geocode AI is run by Meter (meterapp.co). This page explains what the site and the API collect, and what happens to it.
Your account
When you create an account we store your email address, and the name you give us if any, so you can sign in with an emailed code, manage API keys and see your usage. We email you about your account and, occasionally, short product notes from the founders; every such email has a one-click unsubscribe.
API calls
For each API, MCP or CLI call we record which operation ran, how many units it used, whether it was served from cache and how long it took, against your account and key. We don't store the points you send to point-in-polygon checks. Boundaries you look up are cached for everyone, without any link to who asked.
Signing in with Google
When you choose "Continue with Google" to sign in to your account, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use the email address to find or create your account and the name and picture to show who is signed in. Supabase, which runs our sign-in, stores them with your account.
Signing in with Google (trial)
When you sign in on the trial page, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use them to:
- show who is signed in, and
- limit how many trial runs each person can make.
They are kept in a signed cookie in your browser for up to 30 days, or until you sign out. We don't ask Google for any other data or access to your account.
Text you submit
Descriptions you send to Areas (on the trial page or through the API) are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to plan the area, and the place names in it are looked up in public map data (OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps). We don't keep your text after the run finishes, apart from ordinary server logs.
Other services
- The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard request logs, including IP addresses.
- Accounts, keys and the boundary cache are stored in Supabase.
- Maps are drawn with OpenFreeMap tiles, which receive your IP address when a map loads.
- Errors are reported to Sentry so we can fix them.
- The trial may use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a visitor isn't a bot.
- Your IP address is used for up to a day to rate-limit calls made without a key.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it beyond the services listed above.
